Subscription and License Key Questions
A subscription is an annual purchase that gives access to support and updates. More specific answers to subscription questions can be found below.
How many sites can I use my subscriptions on?
We offer three subscription tiers:
- Single: 1 site activation
- Business: 5 site activations
- Agency: unlimited site activations
What is classified as an activation URL?
- Subdomains are separate sites – a key activated for
https://docs.admincolumns.comdoes not cover
- Sub-directory sites are separate sites – a key activated for
https://admincolumns.com/site1does not cover
- Protocols – a the http “version” is the same as https – they count as one site.
Is a multisite Network one activation?
Yes, a WordPress Multisite counts as a single activation.
Do development/staging domains count towards my Site Limit?
When you activate a new install, we will automatically detect if it’s a production or development/staging site. A development site will NOT count towards your Site Limit, only production environments do.
For example, activating your license on
my-example-site.com will count as one site of your limit, but activating it on
mysite.local etc. will not count toward your Site Limit.

How do license keys work with a multisite network?
On a WordPress Multisite, all plugins are stored in one location. When you update your plugin in the Network Admin, all sub-sites receive the update. To access support and updates, you need a single license key for all network sites.
What is a license key?
A License key allows for an active subscription to access product updates and our support team. With each subscription your get one license key. Here is an example key:

Are subscriptions valid for a lifetime?
No, each key is valid from the date of purchase and for as long as your subscription is in effect.
How do I renew my subscription?
If auto-renew is enabled, your subscription renews on the due date and your card is charged. Email notification and receipt are sent to confirm you paid for another year.
You are sent a renewal reminder email 30, 14, 7 and 2 days prior to the subscription renewal date. You can also find renewal information on the My Account page. These emails are also sent if auto-renew is disabled.
How much does it cost to renew my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed annually at 100% of the current price. Coupon codes or other promotional discounts do not apply to renewals.
What do I receive when renewing my subscription?
Renewing your subscription entitles you to support and updates to your product. This ensures compatibility with newer versions of WordPress and Admin Columns Pro, as well as bug fixes and new features and enhancements to the product.
What happens if my subscription expires or is deactivated?
If your subscription has expired or did not auto-renew, you can still use the product on your site for as long as you like but you can no longer access the file for download or receive support or updates for the product.
Many of our store owners download their product(s) before the expiration of their subscription to keep a copy on file, if they know they cannot or will not renew. Our support team will not offer the download files if your subscription is expired.
If you are having trouble with the product, check our Changelog to see if an update may help address the issue. When a product is not working, updating should always be the first step when troubleshooting.
How do I deactivate my license key or transfer it to another site?
To deactivate your license key and reactivate on another site, deactivate the license key from the License - My Account page. The key can then be activated on the new site to start receiving support and updates for that URL.
Can I transfer a subscription to a client, co-worker or friend?
If you like a subscription to be transfered, please contact our support team, and they will transfer the subscription for you.
