Define your license key in your wp-config.php

Instead of entering a license key in the settings page, it’s possible to define the license in the  wp-config.php  file. This is useful when you manage many sites with one license, or when you don't want the key to be editable from the WordPress admin

1. Add the following code in your wp-config file.  define( 'ACP_LICENCE', 'YOUR KEY HERE' );

   
   Note the spelling: ACP_LICENCE, not ACP_LICENSE.

2. Defining the key does not activate the site on its own. Go to the License tab of Admin Columns Pro. The key from wp-config.php appears there in a read-only field. Click Activate License to register the site.
   
   You only need to do this once per site. After that, the license is checked automatically every day.

Changing or removing the key

Once a site is activated, it keeps using its activation, and changing the constant has no effect. To switch to a different key, first click Deactivate License on the License tab, update the constant,

then click Activate License again.

Copying a site to staging or development

A copy of your site on a staging, test or development URL keeps working without any action. It uses the activation of the site it was copied from, so you don't need to activate it again and it doesn't use an extra site from your license. Copying the site back to production is also safe.

Don't click Deactivate License on a staging copy. It won't affect your live site, but the copy loses its license data, and pushing that copy back to production would take the deactivated state along.

Moving a site to a new production domain

A site on a new live domain needs its own activation. Go to the License tab and click Activate License. If the key is defined with ACP_LICENCE, it is already filled in.
